The ‘Rents

This weekend was amazing. My parents followed through on my Christmas present & showed up for a long four day weekend. We had a blast. Its exciting when you’re able to share your life with those close to you & they are enthusiastic about your situation. I’ve certainly enjoyed my time in Seattle so far, and seeing my parents soak it up confirmed my feelings for this place - its great.

Theres plenty to enjoy in Seattle, and we did our best to pack in a bunch. Highlights included the tour and tasting at Theo Chocolate, checking out the Fremont Troll, exploring all the ins & outs of Pikes Place Market (where I bought two awesome new belt buckles to add to my collection and stumbled into meeting the fiddler for The Tallboys), the Locks, a wonderful Sunday spent walking the beach on Whidbey with Nate & watching the Super Bowl with Dad’s buddy Craig. We also ate lots of really good food - I think my taste buds are gonna feel pretty spoiled for a while.

I had some great conversations with my parents, and after missing out on the holidays at home it was incredibly refreshing to reconnect with Mom & Dad. Can’t wait till they come out again & we can explore some of the mountains, rivers and forests that surround this wonderful city.
